To big of an age gap?

i'm 13, soon to be 14 in december and a freshman. yes, i skipped ahead a grade because all of my friends are turning 16 soon. the guy i like is 18, 19 in june and a senior. yes, he flunked or got held back or something like that. i think it's a really big age gap. but we both like each other ( i think) we are not dating. what do you think of this situation?
