Why do people in America think capitalism is perfect?

I'm not really sure. I believe that it's in part due to cultural indoctrination. The mythology of American capitalism is expounded by our educational system and the media. We are constantly bombarded with this Laissez-faire dogma. It's only to be expected that you would hear this kind of crap. I'm not opposed to capitalism. In fact, I am a (very small-time) capitalist, but I believe that capitalism is like ivy. Without regulation it attracts rats and destroys your home.
