What is a cheap High Quality Blender?

Manwithg, I am in a box seat, as I at times have the opportunity to road test appliances. I thought I cam across a good cheap blender till we started doing smoothies, things with ice, and they failed. I would go that extra mile and look at Cuisinart or KitchenAid.
